This is the perfect course for new firearms owners.  In this short four-hour course, students are taught the fundamentals for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents, and how to avoid them; firearm familiarization; cleaning; care; and safe storage of firearms in the home. NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course - (ILT)

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience.  This course covers a variety of topics including: Safety; handgun operation; fundamentals of shooting; ammunition; and handgun care & maintenance.  Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, and receive a course completion certificate.

The NRA Rifle Shooting Course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. NRA Basics of Shotgun Shooting Course

The NRA Shotgun Shooting Course teaches you how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. This course covers a variety of topics including: Safety; shotgun operation; fundamentals of shooting; ammunition; shooting at straight away and angled targets; and shotgun care & maintenance. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and receive a course completion certificate.

NRA Range Safety Officer Course

In this 9-10 hour course Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions.  After successfully completing this course, you will be a Nationally Certified NRA Range Safety Officer.

NRA Basics of Personal Protection In The Home Course

In this 8-hour course students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, continued opportunities for skill development, and Idaho laws pertaining to firearms ownership, as well as carrying a firearm concealed.   Students will shoot approximately 125-150 rounds of ammunition.  Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Course Completion Certificate, and Legal Handouts containing both Idaho and Federal Laws.  This Course satisfies the requirements for the Idaho “Enhanced” Concealed Weapons Permit.

NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home Course

This 2-day course is for individuals who have completed the NRA Basics of Personal Protection In The Home Course. In this course, students will learn the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home; as well as advanced shooting skills applicable to real world self defense situations.  Students spend several hours on the range and shoot approximately 250-300 rounds of ammunition.  Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Course Completion Certificate, and Legal Handouts containing both Idaho and Federal Laws.
